The flying pig, or rather the mischievous “Cochon Volant,” is, as the name suggests, a lively and adventurous red wine from Château de Caraguilhes, one of the oldest wineries in the southern French region of Corbiéres.

Since 1987, Caraguilhes has been cultivating 100% organic wines and is considered a pioneer in sustainability and organic practices. Their vineyards boast high average vine age, traditional low-tech and handmade production methods, and a commitment to integrity and quality.

Cochon Volant is primarily made from approximately 40% Grenache Noir, 40% Carignan, and 20% Syrah sourced from slopes around Boutenac and Lezignan. Each grape variety is organically grown and vinified separately.

This wine exhibits juicy raspberry and blackberry fruit with a touch of well-integrated oak from large 900-liter tonneaux barrels. There are hints of cherry and exceptionally smooth and fully ripe tannins. It showcases a spicy, terroir-driven, and luscious style with generous nods to the Rhône region.

Instructions for use and precautions:

Serve between 12–16 degrees Celsius.
