Shilajit is a naturally occurring, resinous substance formed over long periods of time through natural processes in high-altitude mountain regions. It consists of transformed plant material and minerals that have been compressed between layers of rock for hundreds to thousands of years.

Traditionally, shilajit appears in rock crevices during warmer periods, when it slowly seeps out as a dark, resin-like substance. Shilajit has been known and used for centuries within Ayurvedic tradition.

Solaray Super Shilajit contains PrimaVie®, a carefully processed and quality-controlled form of shilajit sourced from the Himalayan mountain region. The collected shilajit is purified and gently dried into a fine powder before encapsulation.
