Ceylon cinnamon comes from the Cinnamomum zeylanicum or Cinnamomum verum plant, which grows in Sri Lanka and is known as “true” cinnamon. 

Ceylon cinnamon has several health benefits and is recommended when using cinnamon as a staple food. Ceylon cinnamon contains much less coumarin than cassia cinnamon.
