Berthelsen Iodine provides easily absorbed iodine in the form of potassium iodide. Each tablet contains 225 mcg iodine, and each jar contains 180 small, easy-to-swallow vegan tablets – enough for 6 months of supplementation.

Iodine is an essential trace mineral involved in the production of thyroxine in the thyroid gland, which regulates metabolism. Iodine is readily absorbed in the body and excreted via the kidneys.

Iodine deficiency can lead to goiter, low metabolism, fatigue, and lethargy. In Denmark, iodine was made mandatory in table salt from 2000 due to widespread deficiency. Despite this, recent studies show that mild iodine deficiency still occurs in the population.

Instructions for use and precautions:

Iodine intake should not be excessive. The upper tolerable limit set by EFSA (EU) is 600 mcg per day.
