“What did you say?” Is probably the sentence I use most in the store right now. I recently went to get my driver’s license renewed and told the doctor about my hearing. She conducted a very thorough hearing test and even though I had a slight reduction on a few notes, did she not think that there was any need for further examinations. I was obviously very relieved to learn that my slight hearing reduction, caused by my advancing age, was not the reason why I had to ask all my customers “what are you saying?”, when they are across from me in the store.
